How to become a Foley Designer

Foley Designers are more of a specialist job and branches off of Sound Engineers. To become a Foley Engineer you first have to become a Sound Engineer.
To become a Sound Engineer you will need experience and, a good place to get this is in the theater. Asking to shadow someone can be a good way to pick up skills fast. Going to university is a way to get connections and picking up skills and knowledge. Sound Engineers are mostly freelance. You have to be good as a sound engineer in order to be promoted to foley designer.
